No. C-80 File Number 231825 OFFICIAL NOTICE Published by Authority of the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee Office of the City ClerkSubstitute resolution approving levying of assessments and construction of assessable public improvement projects at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City cost of these projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $1,242,385 for a total estimated cost of $1,410,000. Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions, determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct and levy special assessments for the following improvements: 2nd Aldermanic District N. 86th St. - W. Silver Spring Dr. to W. Fond Du Lac Ave. (ST211220177) File Number 211860: Asphalt pavement resurfacing, replace curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway approaches where necessary, sodding (8' width of tree border area), and grading. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund - $40,590; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $265,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $330,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season. W. Medford Ave. - N. 86th St. to N. 87th St. (ST211230133) File Number 230040: Asphalt pavement resurfacing, replace curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway approaches where necessary, sodding (8' width of tree border area), and grading. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund - $30,340; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $210,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $260,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season. 5th Aldermanic District N. Colonial Dr. - W. Auer Ave. to W. Concordia Ave. (Sponsored by the City of Wauwatosa) (ST211230147) File Number 230742: Asphalt pavement resurfacing, replace curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway approaches where necessary, sodding (7.5' width of tree border area), and grading. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund - $1,220; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $180,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $195,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season. W. Sarasota Pl. - N. 95th St. to N. 100th St. (Sponsored by the City of Wauwatosa) (ST211070143) File Number 231568: Asphalt pavement resurfacing, replace curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway approaches where necessary, sodding (8' width of tree border area), and grading. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund - $14,335; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $460,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $490,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season. 8th Aldermanic District W. Pierce St. - W. Reynolds Pl. to S. Layton Blvd. (ST211230123) File Number 221810: Install concrete traffic calming raised crosswalks. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund - $35,900; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $5,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $135,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2024 construction season. ; and Whereas, The report of the Commissioner of Public Works has been filed with the City Clerk; and Whereas, Notices have been sent to all interested persons and public hearings held; now, therefore, be it Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works' Report, as amended at said Public Hearing, is approved and the properties therein identified are benefited; and, be it Further Resolved, That said Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work in accordance with said report pursuant to Section 66.0703 and any other pertinent sections of the Wisconsin Statutes and in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it Further Resolved, That the proper departments take such action as is required of them to assess the abutting or adjacent properties and collect such assessment in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts; and, be it Further Resolved, That the projects do not involve any parcels of agricultural land which are eligible for deferred special assessments under the provisions of Section 14.30 of the Milwaukee City Charter; and, be it Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it Further Resolved That a portion of W. Pierce St. (ST211230123) will be utilizing ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds: The project/grant number is RG1515236108; and, be it Further Resolved, That projects N. 86th St (ST211220177), W. Medford Ave. (ST211230133), N. Colonial Dr. (ST211230147), W. Sarasota Pl. (ST211070143), W. Pierce St. (ST211230123) will be billed after January 1, 2026, but not before 12 months after the project contract has been completed.
